Vincent Cozzolino

Vince Cozzolino is a physicist and electrical engineer with over thirty years experience with the IBM Corporation. During his time at IBM, He held several executive vice president positions in high technology fields and was instrumental in the building and commissioning of IBM's latest 300mm computer chip fab. He also led global teams and managed thousands of employees across many countries for IBM.

Vince Cozzolino received both his Bachelors, a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BA in Physics from SUNY New Paltz and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2005.

John Harrington

Dr. John Harrington leads the research and development activities of the consortium. He heads the effort to bring together experts in the solar energy field with public and private institutions in New York State to foster solar energy solutions. Dr. Harrington holds a PhD in physical chemistry and was the founding Dean for the School of Science and Engineering at the State University of New York at New Paltz. As dean he oversaw the multidisciplinary departments of electrical and computer engineering, physics, chemistry, geological science and mathematics.

Paul Hakim

Mr. Hakim serves as Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for financial and corporate development activities related to the implementation and ongoing operations of the consortium. He also serves as Vice President of Wilber National Bank, a NY-based commercial bank and has syndicated numerous personal real estate ventures and is currently advising and/or active in the management of many of these operating entities. Previously, Mr. Hakim was co-founder and director of OWNX Inc., a Silicon Valley based startup business-to-business marketing services company targeting Fortune 500 corporations.

Petra Klein

As Executive Vice President Technology and Strategy, Petra works under the direction of the CEO / Founder. The position includes but in not limited to providing direction to advance Solar Innovation through Research and Development, creating renewable energy jobs through Enabling Manufacturing, and to eliminate barriers to solar implantation in New York State in Solar Solution applications. The EVP of Technology and Strategy will manage and administer the DOE grants as well as provide project collaboration / management to sub-recipients. Her previous positions include a divisional administrator for Medical Affairs at a regional hospital and a Corporate Compliance Officer for the same facility. She holds a Masters in Chemistry with a background in high temperature superconductors.

Frank Falatyn

Mr. Falatyn works with industry, academic, environmental, labor and economic development partners and NY state federal and local governments to create a new "CleanTech" solar energy industry as an emerging strategic sector for the state economy. In addition to his TSEC work, as President of FALA Technologies, Mr. Falatyn leverages his company's 63 years of business in precision equipment building to providing complete technology commercialization programs for the semiconductor, nano-scale and advanced energy industries. In 2005, New York's Lt. Governor honored Frank with the Small Business Person of the Year award for his advanced development work in partnerships with leading semiconductor industry consortia such as International SEMATECH North and Albany Nanotech.

Carl E. Meyer

Mr. Meyer is the President and Chief Operating Officer of TSEC since 2010 and TSEC Board Chairman since 2009. Previously, he was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation, a regulated electric and natural gas utility serving approximately 625,000 people in eight counties of New York State's Mid-Hudson Valley. Mr. Meyer is the past chair of the Northeast Gas Association and is currently on the board of directors for New York State Business Development Corp. He has also taken an active role in the community, being past chair of the board of directors for Families First New York, Inc., Mid-Hudson Pattern for Progress, Inc. and SUNY New Paltz Business Advisory Council. He is currently the first vice chair of the board of trustees for Vassar Brothers Medical Center and the treasurer for Winnakee Land Trust. He attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. He achieved the following degrees: BS Electric Power Engineering - 1969, ME Electric Power Engineering - 1970, and Registered Professional Engineer - NYS.

Jay F. Jason

Jay F Jason is Special Counsel for the firm of Tarshis, Catania, Liberth, Mahon & Milligram, PLLC in Newbugh NY. He received his law degree from Boston University and his masters from Duke University. Mr. Jason has thirty years experience in Construction, Litigation and Contracts, Labor Law, Employment Law and has been admitted to Massachusetts and New York courts as well as the US Court of Appeals and the United State Supreme Court. He has also served as President of the American Heart Association (1993-1996) Rockland Division, a board member for the Boy Scouts of America, and a Private Pilot for Angel Flight Network. Currently he is an Adjunct Professor, New York University. In addition to his place on the board of The Solar Energy Consortium, Jay Jason also serves as the Consortium's General Counsel.

Richard O'Beirne

As a member of TSEC's Board, Richard O'Beirne helps oversee the organization's work to create the necessary state-wide infrastructure to attract and site solar energy companies in New York State. Mr. O'Beirne will also help lead the consortium's initiative to install building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) solar products in New York City in partnership with NY trade unions, including the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Recently retired as Executive Director of the Construction Contractors' Association in New York's Hudson Valley, he spent his career bringing about unprecedented growth and prosperity to the region's construction industry through strong labor-management relations. Mr. O'Beirne is currently President of Airport Properties, LLC, which is developing acreage on the NY-NJ Port Authority owned Stewart Airport property.

Gillian Small

Dr. Gillian Small was appointed Vice Chancellor for Research of The City University of New York in 2008 after serving with distinction as Dean for Research since 2003. As CUNY's senior research officer, Dr. Small seeks to enhance all levels of involvement in research across the University and connect research and scholarly activities with emerging opportunities. She has overall responsibility for supporting the University's intellectual property portfolio, developing relationships with external research organizations, industry, governmental and non-governmental funding sources and enhancing CUNY's contribution to the economic development of New York City and State. Her major responsibilities include planning extensive new state-of-the-art science facilities as part of CUNY's Decade of Science. An internationally recognized scholar, Vice Chancellor Small received her Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences in 1983 from the University of Wolverhampton in England. She conducted postdoctoral research at Rockefeller University and taught at both the University of Florida and Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she directed a research laboratory and an interdisciplinary graduate program.

Hank DiMarco

Hank DiMarco is the East Fishkill Senior Location Executive and the Director of Packaging Manufacturing Operations for IBM Systems and Technology Group. Hank began his IBM career in 1974, as an Associate Engineer in Logic Card Test in Poughkeepsie, New York. Prior to assuming his current role, Hank held a variety of engineering and management roles in IBM Server Group and the IBM Microelectronics Division. His past responsibilities include: leading IBM's efforts to develop IBM Power Systems across its server brands; managing East Fishkill's Thin-Films manufacturing lines; and heading up IBM's world-wide equipment development efforts in Poughkeepsie, NY, Montpellier, France and Yasu, Japan. Hank received his BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Clarkson College in 1974. A long-time resident of the Hudson Valley, Hank is an active member of the community. Currently, Hank is a board member of The Solar Energy Consortium, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Community Service Programs, Inc. and the Hudson Valley Housing Development Fund Co., Inc.

Anthony Collins

Clarkson University President Anthony G. Collins is a regional and national advocate for higher education - industrial partnerships that couple research discovery and engineering innovation with enterprise for commercialization and economic development. With a focus on advancing sustainable energy solutions and environmental technology innovation, he serves as the president of the Seaway Private Equity Corporation that invests in new technology companies based in St. Lawrence County, New York, and on the board for the Beacon Institute, whose mission focuses on scientific and technological innovation to advance research, education and public policy regarding rivers and estuaries. He is also the vice chair of New York's Commission of Independent Colleges and Universities and the chair of the national Association of Independent Technological Universities' public relations committee. President Collins serves on the boards of the Central New York Metropolitan Development Authority, the Essential New York Initiative, the New York Indoor Environmental Quality Center, and Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environment and Energy Systems, and on the board of advisors of Sriya Innovations, Inc.
